Tonight was a normal evening shift at the basement exit desk except for one strange event involving the value port. A patron was trying to put money on his card, and he came over and told me one of his dollar bills was stuck in the machine. Sure enough, when I look over half of a bill is sticking out of the machine. I went over to look at it, and when we tried to pull it out, it ripped in half. Since half of the bill was still in the machine, no other money would go in. Becky came down to look at it, and just before she got here, the machine spit out the other half of the bill. We ended up taping the two halves together and sticking it in the value port, which actually worked.
Other than that, every thing was normal at the basement exit.
That's pretty remarkable. Technology is so fun sometimes. Nicely done getting it sorted out, though!
