INT. WILSON LIBRARY BASEMENT - NIGHT
ARNOLD sits at the basement exit desk. It's fairly quiet. He is typing and clicking intently as he works on the Patron Address Cleanup project. Suddenly, the silence is broken when a PATRON approaches the desk. ARNOLD smiles and keeps an open stance as he greets him; it's clear he's viewed the customer service training presentation.
ARNOLD
Hello there!
PATRON
Howdy! The name's Patron -- Gene R. Patron! The 'R' stands for Ric!
ARNOLD
Okay, GeneRic Patron! How may I help you?
GENERIC PATRON
Wellsir, I'll be steadily askin' you questions throughout the night. Y'know, standard stuff: where are the vending machines, how do I use that newfangled Value Port, and how does this Uniprint thing work?
ARNOLD
Sounds like it'll be more busy than usual tonight!
GENERIC PATRON
Just a bit more activity than normal, I reckon. On account of the midterms, you see. By the way, can I check out these here books?
ARNOLD
Sure can!
GENERIC PATRON
Great! Thank you, my good sir!
ARNOLD
You're welcome; have a great night!
The PATRON leaves the library. ARNOLD checks the time; it's already nine o'clock! He quits Internet Explorer and Aleph, logs off the computer, and completes the basement exit closing procedures.
