I've been getting feedback about patrons asking for change at the basement exit desk since we started staffing the basement exit desk. I know this is an issue, but it's not reflected in Desk Tracker. For Fall Semester I only found 22 listings with a description indicating someone was looking for change out of a total 498 non-reference type transactions.
Again, I need you all to take care to input all of your transactions into Desk Tracker including appropriate descriptions. Numbers are key to successfully presenting an argument for change...no pun intended.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
A police officer came down to the basement today. When I saw him I asked what was going on and if I could be of any assistance. He told me that he had received a call about the man that comes in with his two little girls to use a computer and then leaves them unattended. The officer said that this was the third time that he had been over because of a complaint and asked me if I had signed him into the computer he was using. I have never signed that particular patron onto a computer, but I have seen the man here every single basement entry desk shift I have had this semester. The little girls often go off by themselves.
The man ended up leaving earlier than usual with his girls. Things died down considerably around 8.
