Things were a bit shaky today, here at Wilson. Khou wasn't able to make it in at 10:00 this morning, and called to say she'd be here at 11:00. Pickup was pretty heavy in the periodical room, and we only made it to the 2nd floor by the end of the hour. I adjusted the schedule to accommodate the 3rd and 4th floors in the next hour.
Amanda was out sick, which left us pretty short staffed for the desks. During the 3:00-4:00 hour, there was no choice but to close the annex, since there were no desk students available.
I had been thinking of skipping my break at 2:00 in order to keep the annex open during that hour as well. After a bit of internal debate and a discussion with Lynn, we decided it was best to take my break and to close the annex from 2-4.
Other than that, things went smoothly. Shelving was taken care of, the government publications modules were completed, and it was relatively quiet.
I've never been taught how to change tasks on W2W, so I did my best by just changing the colors and adding tidbits in the "additional text" section.

It looks like you did a great job in handling a rather challenging Saturday shift. We'll put a W2W tutorial on the agenda for the next Lead Worker meeting so that everyone knows the ins and outs of making changes when necessary. We always want you guys to get your full breaks, so if there is a situation where you need to close the Annex or Basement desk temporarily in order to do so, that's fine. I will follow up with Jackie and the other supervisors to see what the priority would be in that situation. Again, you guys did great under the circumstances.
