Diaspora check

I'm embarking on a new endeavor ... blogging. I've been hesitant because this internet connection means making myself vulnerable and visible in a way that I've never been before. It means that I've decided to put my ideas, my thoughts, my feelings, my whimsies out into an open space for others to view and interact with on any number of levels.
This first entry is called a "Diaspora check" - to make sure that I'm doing things accurately and to invite people to converse with me and anyone else desiring to sound in on diaspora and other topics.
