The CFA (Chartered Financial Analysts) Society of Minnesota recently celebrated 60 years as an organization. First started on September 8, 1952 as the Twin Cities Society of Security Analysts, the CFA Society of Minnesota is the premier professional organization for investment professionals in the Twin Cities area and throughout the Midwest region.

And, as a CFA Institute Program Partner, the Carlson MBA program ensures our curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA exams. Additionally, the CFA Institute only partners with globally diverse, high profile institutions who cover a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge™ and who embrace the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct in their degree programs.

Examples of our finance courses include Corporate Finance Analysis and Decisions; Debt Markets, Interest Rates, and Hedging; Financial Modeling; Securitization Markets; International Financial Management; Financial Risk Management; amongst many others. In general, our finance courses in the Carlson MBA Program cover essential knowledge about corporate finance and financial markets that can lead to careers in fields like corporate finance, security analysis & portfolio management, investment & commercial banking, and risk management.

One of the ways in which our strength in finance comes to life is through the Funds Enterprise experience (offered through our Full-Time MBA program). In the Funds Enterprise, our Full-Time MBA students manage a small capitalization growth fund and a fixed income fund that combine for an asset total of more than $35 million. As the top three student-managed investment funds in the world, our students leave the Funds Enterprise program with real world experiences that set them apart and prepare them for successful careers in finance and management.

We are proud to have so many resources available to our students through our access to the CFA Society of Minnesota, partnership with the CFA Institute, along with all of the program experiences, classes and student clubs and organizations related to finance. If you're interested in learning more about any of these opportunities further, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a class visit or attend an information session.
