A little light lifting for an August Friday ...
Pew's election team has produced an absolutely gorgeous interactive graphic on voter participation across the country 1990-2010.
I HIGHLY recommend clicking and bookmarking the link - and then exploring the data to see trends across the country in registration, ballots cast and votes counted over the last two decades.
Kudos to the entire Pew team - election geeks and designers alike - on a fabulous resource for the field.
[NOTE: Pew's election team has also launched a new monthly newsletter that summarizes the latest work and research of the Election Initiatives team. You can see the inaugural issue here, which highlights Pew's work on voter registration and looks back at recent Election Data Dispatches focusing on provisional ballots and the cost of elections. You can subscribe at the bottom of the page to get this information monthly.]
