Center for Sustainable Polymers at the State Fair

Going to the Minnesota State Fair? If so swing by the Eco Experience Building and learn more DSC01819.jpgabout the Center for Sustainable Polymers (CSP). On display are examples of plastic based products that are made with renewable resources such as corn and soy beans. CSP is currently working on developing even better plastic items that are less brittle than some of the examples that can currently be purchased. These products can help break our dependence for foreign oil, are compostable and do not have the toxicity concerns of other plastics. But additional funding for research is needed to take us even further. So take this opportunity to come and find about the chemistry in this innovative field. There are even some sample molecule models for the kids!
