On Wednesday, February 12, KNOCK, Inc. hosted the inaugural SPUR event in collaboration with The Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship. The first of a series of events dedicated to helping women students connect with prominent women business leaders in the metro. It gave women students a chance to explore career paths other than large corporations and soak up advice about seeking out jobs and internships.
The event started with a welcome from Lili Hall, President & CEO of KNOCK, Inc. After the welcome, introductions were made by women business leaders who gave some background on their personal experiences. The students then went on to introduce themselves by telling the group about their majors and career interests. The rest of the time was spent networking and enjoying appetizers from women-owned businesses.
SPUR is an ongoing series of events at women-owned businesses across the metro. Thank you to Lili Hall for hosting the event as well as the University of Minnesota's Women in Business student group for helping to encourage women students to seek careers that they are passionate about. The next SPUR event is set to be held in June.
