Free Weddings on Valentine's Day in Hennepin County

Free wedding ceremonies will be performed from noon to 1 p.m. on the public service level of the Hennepin County Government Center, according to KSTP.

Pre-registration and a $115 marriage license fee are required, according to MPR. Instructions for registering can be found here.

The Hennepin County Board approved the event last week to honor members of the military as well as first responders, according to the Start Tribune.

The Star Tribune reports that priority will be given to members of the military and first-responders, and civilian couples may be able to be wed if time permits.

The Star Tribune reports that divorces will not be discounted.
