Coach Kill seeks answers at Mayo

Gopher football coach Jerry Kill was admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., after suffering a seizure Sunday morning, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Kill has been tested extensively at the University of Minnesota Medical Center with no conclusive answer to why his seizures continue. Kill said, he had experienced "about 20" episodes over the last six days, WCCO reports.

It was not known how long Kill would remain at the Mayo Clinic, or if he would be heading to Michigan with the team for their Big Ten opener Saturday.

Dems rue Repub shutdown redux

Congress returns Monday in an attempt to pass legislation which will avert a government shutdown, the Washington Post reports.

Both parties took turns attacking each other's bills Friday, as the Democratic-led Senate blocked a GOP House bill offsetting much needed disaster relief with budget cuts.

Democrats will try to pass their own disaster relief bill without the cuts the GOP demands.

Despite promises of cooperation in reflecting public exasperation at the lack of bipartisanship that characterized much of last summer's lead up to a near shutdown, the Wall Street Journal reports that, both parties are aware that disaster relief may dry up Tuesday if a partial government shutdown goes into effect.

Catalonia puts an end to fighting, no more bull

The last sword met its mark Sunday in Catalania as bullfighting ended there. The Spanish parliament banned the sport in July 2010 Ian Sullivan, of the Associated Press , reports.

Sunday marked the end of bullfighting season, although the ban does not go into effect until January 1 of next year.

The sport continues to remain legal in the nations other regions. The smell of blood appears once again to be in the air as a legal challenge has been mounted by a coalition of promoters, breeders and the owner of La monumental, one of three bullrings still running hosting the sport in Barcelona, the Daily Telegraph reports.
