Native Viewpoints: Paintings and Drawings by John Keopke will be on exhibit in the Design Library, 210 Rapson from February 12th to May 14th. There will be an Opening Reception on Friday, February 12th from 5pm to 7pm.

The drawings and illustrations on exhibit in span more than a decade of John's work, and feature his newest watercolors and illustrations.

Greenlight Sustainable SPARC Charrette on January 29th and 30th

The MASLA student chapter is partnering with Greenlight, Engineers without Borders, and GreenBiz to host a charrette for SPARC, a Community Development Corporation in St. Paul. SPARC hopes to plan a development with environmental, social, architectural, and economic sustainability for a site in north St. Paul. All students who have an interest in leveraging their knowledge and expertise should attend. Snacks are provided Friday night, coffee and lunch will be provided Saturday. If you have questions, contact Barett Steenrod or Prescott Morrill.

Bob Close to Give Brown Bag Talk at 12pm January 25th

Bob Close, Principal at Close Landscape Architects will give a Brown Bag talk in Rapson 225 on January 25th from 12 noon to 1:30pm.

Transportation Town Hall on January 25th at Humphrey Institute

Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and Chair of the House Transportation Committee, Congressman Jim Oberstar will be hosting a town hall on the West Bank Campus. This will be just the second stop of a nationwide tour.

Blogging the Regional Competitiveness and Energy Efficiency Summit

The Regional Competitiveness and Energy Efficiency Summit took place January 14th. Senator Amy Klobuchar, Cathy Zoi, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and representatives of 3M, Xcel Energy, Best Buy, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Marvin Windows, Hennepin County Public Works, and the University's Institute on the Environment and Carlson School of Management participated in panel discussions.
