Dumbarton Oaks Summer Internship

The Garden and Landscape Studies program at Dumbarton Oaks announces three internship opportunities, to be jointly administered by the Director of the Dumbarton Oaks gardens and the Director of Garden and Landscape Studies (Gail Griffin and John Beardsley respectively—both awesome people). Open to currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate students in landscape architecture, environmental design, historic preservation, history of art and architecture, GIS, and related fields, the internships
will each have a distinct focus.

MESA

MESA is accepting applications for 2012 internships. landscape architecture students for summer internships in their Dallas office. MESA encourages 2nd and 3rd graduates to apply. Applications must be received by March 31st. Please send a resume and portfolio to MESA.

Peter Walker + Partners internship

PWP will be selecting a small group of landscape architecture students for summer apprenticeships, which will be held from July 3rd through August 9th. PWP requires that applicants have at least one semester of school left prior to graduation. Applications must be received by February 20th..

Olin Studio Internship

The Olin Studio will offer summer internship opportunities between June 3rd and August 9th in their Philadelphia Studio. The program is designed to expose students to most project phases. This year’s program is available for undergraduate and graduate students in Landscape Architecture and Planning.

Interested candidates are encouraged to download and complete the internship application. Note the application form has not yet been updated for 2013, last year's deadline was March 2.

SWA Group Internship

The SWA Group is offering a 4-week summer design studio and internship program, followed by a five week internship. In the Los Angeles summer design studio, students will work with one principal and one associate from the various SWA offices. After the completion of the design studio, students will begin their summer internship in one of seven national offices. SWA will pay for housing during both the design studio and internship period, and also award each student a stipend or salary. The program is open to any student of landscape architecture who will be returning to study in the Fall of 2013. Application deadline is March 1st.

Hart Howerton Fellowship

The Hart Howerton Fellowship provides students with a defined summer internship within the design practice and three weeks of self-directed travel. Download an application form: 2013 Fellowship application [pdf]. Applications are due January 25th.

Hargreaves Associates Internship (not yet updated for 2013)

Hargreaves Associates is now taking applications for their 2012 Internship Program. Applicants must submit a hardcopy portfolio including cover letter, resume, and three references. Digital submissions will not be accepted. Up to three applicants will be selected for full-time internship positions in each office. Applications are due March 30th.

Verzone + Woods Internship

Since 2000 Verzone + Woods has invited between 2-5 students and young professionals to join the studio as interns and become active members of the team during the summer. Applications must be received before February 28.

Design Workshop Internship

Design Workshop is offering summer internship opportunities between June and August 2013. The program is designed to expose students to an interactive, professional office environment and a team of experienced design professionals. This year's program is available for undergraduate and graduate students in Landscape Architecture and Planning. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. Please apply online and select the Internship position. Applications are due March 29th.

Sasaki Associates Internship

Sasaki Associates is seeking students to participate in a paid summer internship program in the Boston office. The Internship program runs 10 weeks, from June 3 through August 9. Applications are due March 3 and interviews will take place during the week of April 8.
