Alona Nitzan-Shiftan, senior lecturer at the faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, presents "Spatializing Histories and Nationhood: The Architecture of Moshe Safdie at the Foot of Temple Mount" on Monday, November 30, 2009, 5:30 p.m., at 125 Nolte Center. Nitzan-Shiftan studies post-World War II architectural culture, particularly in Israel and the US, and focuses her research on cross-cultural contexts in light of recent thought in the fields of nationalism, orientalism, and post-colonialism. Her lecture is part of the Quadrant lecture series, a joint initiative of the Institute for Advanced Study and the University of Minnesota Press.
