Dunne wins college's first research slam

Attendees of the College of Design's first research slam selected Lucy Dunne (Apparel Design) as the $1,000 winner for her presentation on wearable technology. Raghav Mehta, writing for the Minnesota Daily, reports that part of Dunne's project "would expand on a medical monitoring system composed of wearable body sensors that could measure everything from heart rate to body temperature."

Eighteen participants had five minutes each to present their current research and creative production. Mehta cites Carol Waldron (Graphic Design) as saying that the research slam was a good way for everyone to learn about their colleagues' research taking place in other parts of the college.
