Dean Tom Fisher (Architecture) is cited in Todd Nelson's profile of Vanman Architects and Builders for the Star Tribune. Founded 53 years ago, the Golden Valley company has relied partially on church design, construction, and expansion projects to stay in business during the current recession. Fisher tells Nelson that Vanman's design-build approach "is a harbinger of where the industry is headed, and deserves credit for seeing that potential before others." "Design-build may well become the dominant mode of delivering buildings after this recession," Nelson quotes Fisher as saying. "With this will come greater efficiency."
