The Visual Merchandising class offered through the College of Design's Retail Merchandising program has partnered with the Uptown Association and the American Heart Association on a window display project. The project's campaign, "Start! Up in Uptown," promotes making changes toward a healthier lifestyle. The college's visual merchandising students have been working with 12 area businesses to design window displays incorporating the "Start!" theme.
When the displays are completed on April 1, 2010, two categories of voting will be available in the participating businesses and online.
The students will showcase their storyboards at the Monday Night Mingle on April 5, 2010 at Rudolph's, 1933 South Lyndale Avenue, Minneapolis, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The "Start! Up in Uptown" Shop & Walk event will take place on April 10, 2010, 11 a.m., at Cowboy Slim's, 1320 West Lake Street, Minneapolis. Participating businesses will offer in-store promotions and discounts through 8 p.m.
