Target Field, the new home of the Minnesota Twins, has been heralded as America's greenest ballpark. The ballpark garnered a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver-level award this week. Pioneer Press reporter Leslie Brooks Suzukamo cites John Carmody (Center for Sustainable Building Research) in his article, "Target Field deemed greenest ballpark in majors," on the educational value of the ballpark's efficiency and sustainability. "If you do it on a stadium, you've got the potential to educate people on a very big scale," Carmody tells Suzukamo. "It's not just the kilowatt savings that's important; it's got a broader educational mission."
