Wade Stebbings, MFA student in Interactive Design, is traveling to Beijing, China, for the May 17 opening of a photography exhibition at the Beijing Film Academy in which he is exhibiting.
The program, "Beijing Now," is under the auspices of the Department of Studio Arts in the College of Liberal Arts. Its topic is taken from the Chinese word "weiji," which is understood to mean "crisis equal opportunity." The subject of Stebbings' photographs is trash, specifically as seen from inside the Hennepin County incinerator (HERC) in downtown Minneapolis.
