The 2010 AIGA reDesign/MCAD Sustainable Design Retreat is all about moving forward while kicking bad design to the (recycling) curb. Designers are being challenged to create products, identities, packaging, and communication materials that not only appeal to the environmentally and socially conscious, but lure a broader audience to "the green side." We've grown weary of cliches, and leery of confusing environmental claims. Creative professionals must engage the audience through great design and truthful storytelling, not guilt and greenwashing.
Speakers include Jeff Johnson (Spunk Design Machine; Spunk designed the College of Design identity system), Bjorgvin Saevarsson and Maikel van de Mortel (Element Six Media), and Joshua Foss (Metro Hippie and Thrive Sustainable Design).
