R. Arvid Nelsen, former curator of the Charles Babbage Institute at the University of Minnesota Libraries, was named curator of the Northwest Architectural Archives (NAA) this summer.
NNA, located in 213 Andersen Library, is home to over 200 collections of archival materials relating to architecture, landscape architecture, structural engineering, and industrial and textile design.
The NAA has a new home in a merged unit--Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts (SCRBM). In addition to curating the NAA, Nelsen was named the head of SCRBM.
"The Northwest Architectural Archives is an outstanding collection. It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to helping develop and promote it to the benefit of the amazing design communities in the region," Nelsen said.
