Wedin's Ensculptic House on market

The Enscupltic House -- known alternatively as the Mushroom House, Flintstone House, and Hobbit House, designed by Winslow Wedin (BArch, 1959), is on the market. The original owners named the house "Ensculptic" as an acronym for Environmental Sculpture in Plastic. Wedin designed the house, built primarily out of polyurethane foam, in 1969 and it was featured in Life magazine a year later. The house sits on a 22-foot cement slab and is secured by nylon support cables.
