Dean Tom Fisher (Architecture) has written an essay, entitled "Frederick Law Olmsted and the Campaign for Public Health," for the online journal Places. Olmsted is widely credited with creating the field of landscape architecture and his service as a public health advocate and head of the US Sanitary Commission is largely forgotten.
