Mary E. Litsheim (BS Applied Design, 1973; MA Home Economics, 1979) completed her research on Scandinavian Folk Art Education in the Contemporary Context and received her PhD from the University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development. Her research involved travel to higher education institutions and museums in Norway as well as interviews with educators, administrators, and curators. Artistic stage development and adult learning was integral to the study's purpose and its results.
