The Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion (Oxford University Press), edited by Joanne B. Eicher (Regents professor emerita, Apparel Design), has received the 2011 Dartmouth Medal by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA). The encyclopedia, as well as its online component Berg Fashion Library, was selected for its extensive and outstanding multidisciplinary coverage of dress, fashion and its impact on society. The Dartmouth Medal is awarded by RUSA, a division of the American Library Association, and honors the creation of a reference work of outstanding quality and significance.
