Metropolitan Design Center announces July workshops

The Metropolitan Design Center (MDC) will be conducting a workshop on July 15, 2011 from 9 to 11 am in Rapson Hall on the A-Mill and the Doran Mill residential development proposal on Main Street. The workshop will focus on providing an urban design framework to evaluate the proposals including an open space and street plan connecting the Mississippi River. Members from the City of Minneapolis Planning Department, University District Alliance, and University Planning Department will be attending. The workshop is open to community members as well.

The MDC, along with traffic consultants Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., will be hosting an additional public workshop on July 27, 2011 to discuss alternative transportation options for the Granary Corridor cost benefit analysis. The workshop will be held in Rapson Hall from 8:30 to 11 am.
