Kyle Beneventi (BS Architecture, 2011) Project Published at ArchDaily

As the largest slum in South America, Rocinha, just south of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is becoming an increasingly hot button issue with the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games right around the corner. For part of his Design Studio 4 course taught by Adjunct Assistant Professor Dan Clark last semester, recent graduate Kyle Beneventi (BS Arch, 2011) worked on the issue and "proposes an urban strategy to make Rocinha a very walkable city, dealing principally with voids to break up the blanket of uniform building mass."
