On Monday we launched a campaign to raise money for the college's efforts related to housing and specifically projects that our students are doing with Habitat for Humanity. The money raised will be put to use this school year and we are eager to share with you the impact of your support of this initiative. Our goal of $10,000 by Dec 10, is lofty and aggressive but it is important if we are to pursue some of these unique learning opportunities for our students. Alumni and friends donated over $2,000 in the first two days, so we are making good progress, but we need your support.
We have students interested in traveling with Habitat for Humanity as part of their Global Village Project, we have retail students ready to expand on the research they've already completed with Habitat's ReStores, and we have faculty that are excited to finalize plans for another partnership with our architecture students to develop sustainable housing in our community. These are exciting opportunities that will become reality with the support of our alumni and friends.
With the start of the second semester in January comes more exciting opportunities for our students. Please lend your support and help us make even more of these experiential learning partnerships available.
