The Transportation Committee was established in 2010 by the city Planning Commission at the direction of the Mayor and City Council. The committee advises the Planning Commission on transportation planning and project decisions to help better integrate land use and transportation decisions as they relate to zoning, neighborhood and comprehensive planning, and infrastructure investments. The committee consists of four planning commissioners and several community members representing the interests of business, various modes of transit, pedestrian, bicyclist, accessibility, and the freight and logistics industry.
Members serve three-year terms and may be reappointed up to nine years. Mr. Ochs continues to serve on the Neighborhood Planning Committee in addition to his recent appointment to the Transportation Committee.
