There's an action figure for every Disney character and blockbuster movie, but what if you could create an action figure that looked a lot like ... you? The combined technology of the Human Dimensioning Lab and DigiFabLab at the College of Design made it possible for Channel 5 reporter Chris Egert to have his body digitally scanned and then printed as a 3D object. Printing a scanned replica of yourself is just one of the growing number of possibilities - from Urbee the car to this glamorous dress - made possible by this emerging technology. Students across design disciplines are using it to test prototypes and build their models. What would you create?
