For those who grew up in the '70's, we remember the Polaroid instant camera and film. Polaroid discontinued making the instant camera last year, and has now decided to discontinue making the instant film in order to focus more on digital photograph and printers.

In addition to the comment I previously posted - a couple of years back, Polaroid realized the Polaroid camera was reaching the end of its life cycle due to the effect of digital photography on the industry. As discussed in the first couple of weeks of class, this is an excellent example of how the external environment, especially the technology segment of the external environment, were effecting Polariod's business. Polaroid decided to continue its business in the digital printer market and put into place an exit strategy for their Polariod cameras and film. Polariod is continuing this strategy by discontinuing the Polariod film production after it discontinued the Polariod camera production last year.
