Three Questions About China

I guess being a finance major, I have a few questions that pertain to that. I will also be looking to see if I think I could live there as a potential starting point for my career after college.

1) What is the health and maturity of the Chinese financial markets, how effectively do they operate in a communist society?
2) What type of American financial service companies do business in china, and how do they interact with their Chinese counterparts?
3) How does the Chinese culture in general treat those from outside the country? I have heard they are very gracious and nice, while at the same time I have also read that the Chinese culture is a xenophobic one.

3 questions

Some questions that I am interested in learning about during our time in China are:

1.) Which natural resources are most vital to the Chinese economy? I am interested in knowing this to gather a better understanding of how major countries are able to use their resources to create wealth.
2.) Since I am studying to be an Actuary I would like to know about what past insurance programs were available and what their future plans are in the insurance world?
3.) How has the role of women changed in Chinese business? Currently do women hold upper-level business positions?

Hello & 3 things I want to learn about

Hi everyone. My name is Kevin O'Connell. I just got done with my 3rd year at UMD double majoring in Accounting & Finance.I still have a couple years to go before i graduate.

I've never been to China so dont really know what to expect. We are only two days away and--probably like everybody else--I am getting very excited andcan't wait to depart! I want to learn many things while in China but here are just a few. First, I want to learn about Chinese business. China's economy has been growing at an incredible rate over the past decade-plus. They are going to be a force for years to come. I want to learn about China's main industries and the future of those industries. I also want to learn about how the Chinese business lifestyle differs from the United States. Second, I want to learn about the Chinese culture as a whole. I have been out of the country a couple of times but have never really gotten the feel for another culture. It will be a life changing experience to see how differently people live half-way around the world. Lastly, I want to learn about myself. I want to grow as a person during this trip. When you think about it, a month away from home is not that long. However, I have never been away from MN for more than a week. I have no idea what it's going to be like being gone for a month. When im working after college i want to be the type of person my boss knows s/he can send on a business trip and I will get the job done. This trip will give me a taste of what it's going to be like to work in completely different place.

3 Questions

As a Management Information Systems major my curiosities naturally lie within technology in and outside of the workplace. My first question is: How are new technology implemented and/or used within the business setting in China as compared with the United States. My second question is: As "the times they are a-changin'," and as a high context culture, how do the majority of Chinese nationals feel about the anonymity and "shrinking of the world," so to speak, that comes along with the worlds large adaptation of the internet. Lastly, I'd like to find out more about interpersonal communication at universities in China as compared to the universities in the United States.

3 Questions

First of all, I am looking forward to getting out of this country for a whole month and experience whatever is thrown at us across seas in China. I am looking forward to seeing how banks are similar and different to ours. Secondly, I can't wait to see what factories and skyscrapers look like on the inside and what the employees at those banks or companies do during the day (ie when they get into work, when they leave, how long lunch or breaks in general, just random questions like these). Lastly, I am really looking forward to the culture in general. My cousin lived in Beijing, Shanghai, and currently in Singapore so I have heard some stories, but I am looking forward to experiencing everything for myself. I can't wait to board the plane on Sunday!

My three questions

There are many things I want to learn on this trip. The first thing I would like to learn is how does their stock market function? Is it like the United States or does it have many different rules and regulations? The second question is what other reasons are there that the Chinese like to keep their currency undervalued, other than it provides economic stability? The third and final question I have is how does the government being Communist, effect the Chinese citizens?

3 Things i want to learn

The first thing I would like to learn even though its pretty general is: 1) How the Chinese culture of not just only the schools but everyday living compares to American culture. I am also a marketing major so: 2) I would like to see how China business market their products in there country and if they use strategies i have never seen? Finally, since China is inevitably becoming the next world power I would like to see how China runs there business compared to the way Americans do business? Since I will most likely be doin some type of business later in my career.

My Three Questions

There are many things I hope to learn during my visit to China. Mainly I'm interested in their current accounting system and how it has progressed over the past decade or so. 1. How is their current accounting system working out for them and how does it compare to US GAAP? 2. How do business negotiations in China function as compared to the United States? 3. Why is their economy so successful while most of the rest of the world is in a depression period? These are the main points I am interested in learning about, but I'm sure I will learn many other things while I'm in China.
