Senator Craig Guilty Plea Stands

A Hennepin County District Court judge rejected an attempt by Sen. Larry Craig to withdraw his guilty plea following an arrest in a gay-sex sting at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

According to the Star Tribune, District Judge Charles Porter called the guilty plea to disorderly conduct in his 27-page ruling, "accurate, voluntary and intelligent," and called Craig's reasoning "illogical." They also reported that Sen. Craig initially resigned on Sept. 30, but then put it off until the ruling.

The Pioneer Press reported that there was no word whether or not Sen. Craig was going to appeal the judge's decision or step down from his senate seat.
