I believe this topic effects all of us since we are students and one day will be parents. However, all of us will be taxpayers. Pawlenty's proposal is to give free tuition to Minnesota state high school students who are in the top quarter of their class or get a comprable ACT score and go to a Minnesota state college for their first two years, maybe four years depending on the major they choose. Now many people are probably really excited about this because they are thinking either it is them right now or was them when they were in high school. And what student would not want free tuition. However, this topic brings about an economical perspective. Top 25%? That is a lot of students to pay for, let alone the students who are not there but have a high enough ACT score. Where is this money going to come from? There either has to be extra money coming in, maybe higher taxes, or money coming out of another part of the budget. But what part do we cut that money from? These are all questions we have to ask ourselves about this plan? This issue directly affects all of us and should be debated to see the possible solutions to high cost tuition.

I have a debate due on monday the 17 I was wondering if you could send some more important topics on the free tuition funds.we are against it and thought it was impossible to save that much money for that many people looking for education. thanks cory
