TO: Ambassador BELL and HANZO, Administrators GALATOWISTCH and SIEGEL, Secretary of State DILLE and KIM JONG-IL
Dear Esteemed Leaders or corresponding Press Secretaries ( which is perhaps more likely)
I'm writng a story for FOX NEWS about the upcoming conference on East Asia, hosted by the UN. I've heard that the main focus of discussion will be Nuclear Proliferation in North Korea and was wondering how the individulal you represent views this issue. There is some talk that this conference is a farce considering that the senate vote on US engagement with North Korea is to follow the week after the conference. Or is this perhaps a last minute attempt for the UN to save face as a global institution? Any information you have on these concerns will be greatly appreciated,as we are a media service committed to delivering only fair and balanced news.
Yours Truly,
Olivia Borges-Nunez

I recently got a change to speak with Chinese President Hu Jintao. He relayed to me that the Asian Pacific Summit is a very important matter to China. Jinatao hopes to come to some sort of general consensus with the other countries attending on how to approach North Korea when talks are reopened later this month. China wants to make clear where it stands with North Korea. Jinatao informed me he is still completely for a peaceful resolution to North Korea's nuclear matters, and will continue to aid the country in doing so. China looks forward to the continuing of the six party talks.

Thank you Ambassador Bell for your comment. I will make sure to present China's stance as one of peaceful negotiation. I was wondering if you could comment on whether this hope for peaceful negotiation is based on a desire of good will for the region or good business.

For anyone who is not familiar with my name, I am Wun Ji-Til, personal media consultant to Kim Jong-Il himself.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I come to inform all those nations who have plans to attend the upcomming confernce on Southeast Asia that Kim Jong-Il will not be able to attend, as pressing domestic matters require his immediate attention.
However, the President will release a statement before and after the conference affirming his position on said "nuclear proliferation" and other global matters that he sees fit to deal with.
Thank you for your concern.

It is the purpose of the United Nations that this upcoming summit is to facilitate peaceful negotiations between the powers that be and bring all attending nations closer to a uniform consensus. The UN wants the views of all parties to be represented and heard so that a resolution of all involved may be constructed to bring about a fresh, definite international direction concerning nuclear proliferation.
The UN would like to stress that the nations involved MUST cooperate with each other, for the only process leading to a truly peaceful conclusion is one dealing with ALL interests. It is in the international community's best interest to create universally inclusive satisfaction, and the UN, by hosting the summit, is doing all it can to aid in this chain of events.
That being said, if a sparring nation chooses not to attend, they are hereby forefeiting an immediate opportunity for their wishes to be considered, and must then responsibly understand their stance on the issue will most likely be passed over.

Olivia,
I believe the Conference on East Asia will be a very effective place for the international community to come together and focus on the tension in North Korea. This is a conference to be taken seriously and not one to be taken as a farce or a means to improve appearances. The EU is coming to the conference with clear motives of promoting humanitarian aid to the current North Korea and pushing direct talks between nations. The EU would like peace in the region and the only way to obtain peace is through conferences such as the approaching conference on East Asia.
Thank you,
Diane Galatowitsch, The Chief Administrator of the European Union

Olivia,
Japan is making progressive steps towards the disarmament of the entire world of nuclear weapons. If this means war with North Korea, then we so be it. If this conference goes accordingly, we hope to gain allies in our goal of eliminating nuclear weapons. We are the only nation to have suffered the blow of an atomic bomb and we wish it upon no one else. This conference should help direct our attentions and bring about amiable relations between all in light of North Korea's actions.
Sincerely,
Hattori Hanzo, the Japanese respresentative
