Gay rights group stops rally
A gay rights group is canceling a planned rally on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus. According to West Central tribune the rally was put to a stop after the police reported an assault made on a man was not a hate crime.
According to WCCO Paul Marquardt, 23, a former resident of Edina, originally told police he was attacked by four men last week who shouted derogatory comments about his sexual orientation. But, according to police there were inconstancies between the report they received and the information the media was using for their stories.
According to WKBT Marquardt told police he believes he was pushed down and injured by unknown assailants and that there were no derogatory comments made. This was all just a misunderstanding investigators told WKBT.
