I'm going to have my design revolve around the elegant simplicity of the museum architecture. Then I'll mix in the fun side of individual works in the museum. As you turn the pages of the fold-up book different colors are introduced giving that feeling of walking through a museum, as well as experiencing different feelings throughout the museum.
Measuring will be crucial in my design there will be a set up for die cut holes though the whole piece. The rest of the design as well as the type will build off of where exactly the holes will be cut, so I will have to establish a grid / master page.
What is it that all people and all cultures have in common? The Earth. There would be no culture if we didn't have a place to live. That's why I chose to include the planet Earth as the main element in my poster. I used different colored hands to illustrate the existence of different people around the world. All the hands are wrapping around the world working together for the same purpose of keeping the world going. Then there is a blue hand propelling from the Earth shooting into space. This blue hand represents the sum of people working together in order to excel human existence in a harmonious manner.
I feel that "keep culture going" is what people of the Earth should focus on doing. Our differentiating culture is what makes human life so important and monumental. Instead of cultural differences and religious quarrels being the downfall of Earth, we need to use culture and religion as building blocks to sustain our Earth. How we go about sustaining this world is our biggest, most difficult problem, but raising awareness of our problems is a relatively easy first step.
Studying the anatomy of a design can be very important. It's really good for analyzing what works in a design and what kind of messages can be picked up easier than others. When you have a message to give an audience the designer should do research to seek out the best ways the audience can understand. Each part of a composition should connect to the central idea trying to be conveyed. Many different messages can be put together to create an even stronger mood.
If something comes up in design such as using a shadow, it's going to be used again because it's effective. Designers used ideas from things people are already familiar with.
