Studying the anatomy of a design can be very important. It's really good for analyzing what works in a design and what kind of messages can be picked up easier than others. When you have a message to give an audience the designer should do research to seek out the best ways the audience can understand. Each part of a composition should connect to the central idea trying to be conveyed. Many different messages can be put together to create an even stronger mood.

If something comes up in design such as using a shadow, it's going to be used again because it's effective. Designers used ideas from things people are already familiar with.

Animals from different parts of the world are placed in different colors to symbolize the many places people are in the world and how different they live. I used a lot of colors to keep a neutral, calm feel.

"keep it going" just states the very huge idea of keeping the world going. We can't accomplish anything as people without a place to live. We need to get along so all inhabitants of the earth can live on.

Iranian Design.

They used the type as the imagery.
The O keeps getting smaller in the design representing that our amount of fresh water is going down. Black, Red and White are pretty bold colors really evoking the audience needs to get down to the point and analyze this problem. This piece is definitely straight to the point.

"Graphic design is a visually communicative bridge between message and audience."

That has to be my favorite definition of graphic design I've ever heard.

Everything in a piece of graphic design must be taken into account. Good graphic design takes elements from cultures and puts a twist of them to get people to react. I think the main idea really in graphic design is to give the audience a reaction, either buy this, or contribute with something, or even to just create awareness.

It's true there's not a lot of important graphic design influence in the U.S. as opposed to the west, but that just shows societal views/wellness are more important in the West. If World power changes and Americans notice something needs to change, design is going to become a lot more important. The more people that care about something the more good design work is going to come out of it. I wouldn't say Western posters and other international posters are better, it's just that they have more to say to their people and to the world through design.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY.

Now it comes down to what you want do as a designer. Do you want to design things OR do you want to make a statement? "A graphic designer can still do the work he cares about and become world famous. (But probably at the expense of his bank account)" There are so many different groups and organizations out there right now. If you get your graphics down you can make the choice as to who you want to work for. You're getting hired either as a graphic designer or an artist. It's important to know what job you want.

This is an idea I drew for a poster.
It represents distortion and chaos that eventually becomes cohesive and rhythmic.
I want to give this color and depth and possibly add text.
