Why didn't Bush just say that it was bribery that made him want the UAE to control the ports?

I think it would have been simpler. Send money to poppie, he always did buy coke for his little dubya kid, and the ports purchase can go right ahead. No worries.

Oh well, at least they contributed $100 million to the Katrina relief effort just before the Bushies approved the deal.
