YANAGITA KUNIO AND JAPANESE FOLKLORE STUDIES IN THE 21ST CENTURY

YANAGITA KUNIO AND JAPANESE FOLKLORE STUDIES IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Edited by Ronald A. Morse   September 2012

This is the first scholarly book to appear in English in over a decade about the prominent Japanese folklorist Yanagita Kunio (1875-1962). It contains essays by a younger generation of Japan specialists, and is especially focused on Yanagita's mature theories and writings during the 1930s and 1940s. The book also has up-to-date bibliographical material that will be helpful to scholars in a variety of fields: "A Guide to Major Foreign Language Writings on Yanagita Kunio and Yanagita Studies" and "A Guide to Japanese Folklore Centers & Resources".

This e-book can be downloaded for free in several formats from:  http://www.japanime.com/yanagita
