The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will offer the Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended software license option for University-owned computers. Departments and collegiate units at the University will benefit greatly from OIT's new contract with Adobe. Pro Extended is only available for the Windows operating system. However, OIT also will offer Acrobat Pro for MacOS at a discounted rate.
Currently, Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended costs faculty and staff $204 at academic prices and $699 if ordered directly from Adobe. OIT will offer the Pro Extended software license for a yearly fee of $40. This cost also will cover all upgrades within that year.MacOS users will have the option of purchasing Adobe Acrobat Pro license at a discounted price. Currently, Adobe Acrobat Pro is available at academic prices for $54, and $449 if ordered directly from Adobe. OIT will offer Acrobat Pro for MacOS for a yearly fee of $25. This cost also will cover all upgrades within that year.

In addition to the individual purchase option, there is also a departmental pricing option that covers all computers (Windows and Macs) owned by the department, as well as collegiate/administrative option, which covers all computers (Windows and Mac) owned by the collegiate/administrative unit. The departmental and collegiate/administrative options include both Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended for Windows and Acrobat Pro for Mac images. Please check with your local IT Staff if interested in the departmental or collegiate/administrative unit option.
Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended comes with all the features of the traditional Pro option, but with some added enhancements. Pro Extended includes Presenter, LiveCycle® Designer ES, and Adobe 3D Reviewer software. Pro Extended can be used to create onDemand presentations, and since Presenter and Acrobat are tightly linked, users can easily drop presentations into a PDF container. Presenter costs $175 if purchased separately. This is a great feature for those using UMConnect.
