The 3-day program starts Tuesday, December 7th with the TSP recertification program 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM, AFREC Soil Fertility Research Reports 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Pesticide Applicator Recertification: Category H -- Seed Treatment Session 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM. The CPM Short Course Educational Sessions will begin on Wednesday, December 8th from 8:10 AM - 5:00 PM and continue on Thursday, December 9th from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

The NRCS will provide USDA Technical Service Provider Training for the Introduction Training for Technical Service Providers (TSPs) on December 7th from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE2). This 3.5 hour session provides an understanding of water erosion processes and the equation used to predict water erosion under differing management systems. Understanding RUSLE2 is a requirement for many TSP certification categories.

The Agricultural Fertilizer Research and Education Council (AFREC) will showcase a number of research projects funded by Minnesota's new program. The entire afternoon program from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on December 7th will host six research projects spanning the 2008-2010 cropping seasons. (2 CEU's in NM).

New this year is the Pesticide Applicator Recertification: Category H -- Seed Treatment Session, 2 PM - 3:30 PM: This MDA approved session is for applicators who need recertification credit in Category H. To receive Category H: Seed Treatment recertification must attend this December 7 afternoon session and also the A: Core and C: Field Crop Pest Management pesticide recertification morning and afternoon sessions on December 8.

The Minnesota Crop Production Retailer's annual meeting is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, December 7th.

On Wednesday, December 8th, the program will continue with pesticide applicator recertification which will start at 8:00 AM for categories A (Core) and C (Field Crop Pest Management) and the Crop Pest Management Short Course. For applicators who need certification in Category A + H or Categories A + H + C, attend the Tuesday afternoon session as well as this workshop.

The CPM Short Course's General Session will start at 8:10 AM on Wednesday, December 8th with this year's theme "Is Crop Management too Complex for Easy Solutions?". Dr's. Scott Murrell, Martin Bohn and David Mortenson will present and discuss perspectives on flexible nutrient management approaches, the future of corn breeding and the trends in deployment of transgenic insect resistance traits, and the economic and other consequences on farming practices caused by the evolution of herbicide resistant weeds. The concurrent sessions on Wednesday afternoon will focus on emerging corn and soybean insect & disease issues, soybean nematodes, agricultural climate outlook for 2011, corn nitrogen needs following alfalfa, and can we really increase soybean yields with additional inputs?

The concurrent sessions at the CPM short course continues on Thursday, December 9th starting at 8:00 AM with a wealth of pest, crop, and fertilizer management topics including; herbicide adjuvant & application issues, plant analysis uses & limitations, alfalfa weevil biology & management, IDC management in soybeans, soil phosphorus chemistry & management, nitrate losses in agricultural drainage, fertility options for continuous corn, managing drainage variability and recent research in crop rotations. The program will end Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm to allow for a timely return home.

All concurrent sessions will run for 50 minutes and offer 1.0 CCA CEU/topic. Certified crop advisors will be able to collect a total of 15 CCA continuing education credits over the course of the 3-day program.

General Registration (on or before 11/19/2010) - $120.00
General Registration (after 11/19/2010) - $170.00 

Pesticide Applicator Recertification (Category A & C on or before 11/19/2010) - $130.00
Pesticide Applicator Recertification (Category A & C after 11/19/2010) - $180.00
Pesticide Applicator Recertification (Category A & H with or without C on or before 11/19/2010) - $170.00 Pesticide Applicator Recertification (Category A & H with or without C after 11/19/2010) -$210.00
