The three-day event will be held at the MN Landscape Arboretum on July 19-21, 2012. Visit the conference FaceBook page for updates and information AND some awesome photos of the Arboretum. Registration will be available via this site as well as info about the upcoming speakers, special events, and sessions to come.

We just registered for the International Conference and were somewhat disappointed in the tours since none of them included private gardens. We were so looking forward to seeing peoples gardens in that area.
Several of our organization are planning to come to the UMMGC in Minnesota next year and so hope you will include gardens from your Master Gardeners. They are always so much more interesting than all the public places you can visit on your own when you are in that area. Some of our group do only the garden tours when they go to a conference and none of the daily breakout sessions.
So, we are looking forward to a great choice. We saw beautiful Master Gardener gardens during the last conference in Minnesota and hope to see more this time around.

Thanks for the comments, Doris. We won't be visiting private gardens at the Upper Midwest Master Gardener Conference in 2012 because the MN Landscape Arboretum - the site for the conference - has so much to offer in the way of gardens, research and new directions in horticulture. We are also concerned about being "green" and thus avoiding the rental of large coach buses. I encourage you to still come to the conference, even though private gardens will not be on the docket, and enjoy learning about gardening in in the Uppoer Midwest from the experts in UMN Extension Horticulture and the Arboretum.
