Former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Walter Mondale, and other politicians honored Hubert H. Humphrey at the unveiling of a memorial in his name on the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul Saturday, the Star Tribune reported.

Humphrey, who served on the U.S. Senate, as the U.S. vice president, and the mayor of Minneapolis, was an inspiration some of the political figures present at the unveiling. Clinton grew up watching the tape of a pivotal speech by Humphrey, MPR reported. Mondale said he considered Humphrey a mentor, according to the Star Tribune.

Police have released the identity of a man killed in a parking rap at the Mall of America, the Pioneer Press reported.

Raheem Aaron Waheed, the 52-year-old man killed in the accident, was driving a U-Haul truck that was too tall for the parking ramp when the truck hit a support beam. The beam fell and crushed the cab of the truck, the Star Tribune reported.

Two other people in the truck were injured but not killed in the accident, according to the Star Tribune.

Mars rover scheduled to land, on autopilot

The Curiosity, the most high-tech rover from NASA, will be attempting a landing on the surface of Mars, the Star Tribune reported.

The rover, which weighs almost a ton, needed a different way to land from previous Mars rovers, according to the Star Tribune. Instead of airbags surrounding the rover, the Curiosity will land via braking similar to a space shuttle, a parachute to slow it down, and lowering the rover from cables into a crater.

The rover is set to land in a crater with a 3-mile-high mountain in the middle, the Pioneer Press reported. Images of the mountain, called Mount Sharp, suggest the lower layers of the mountain have signs of water in them.

A 4-year-old boy has been hospitalized after he fell from a third-story apartment building Sunday morning, the Star Tribune reported.

The boy fell out of the window after pushing the screen out, the Pioneer Press reported.

The incident is considered an accident but is still being investigated, Chief Correy Farniok told the Star Tribune.

Usain Bolt beats his own Olympic record

Jamaica's Usain Bolt won the Olympic gold medal in the men's 100 meters Sunday, MPR reported. He ran the 100 meters in 9.63 seconds, beating his previous Olympic record speed by .06 seconds and missing the world record speed by .05 seconds.

Another runner from Jamaica, Yohan Blake, won the silver medal in the race, the New York Times reported. Justin Gatlin of the U.S. won the bronze medal.

7 dead in shooting attack at a Wis. Sikh temple

Seven people are dead in a shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wis., MPR reported.

The shooting happened Sunday morning, when a gunman killed six people and injured at least three more at the temple. A police officer killed the gunman, according to MPR. Another officer is in the hospital with several gunshots, the New York Times reported.

President Obama and Mitt Romney both released statements about the shooting Sunday, according the the New York Times.
