"For my wife"
Response to screening.
February 8th

It is safe to say that the people who produced this documentary were all on the same page as to what they wanted to portray to their audience. Every piece of information they gave to us was to prove Charlene's point and back up her feelings. They didn't make a point to share the other sides of the story. There is always two sides of a story. Obviously there was a strong appeal to pathos from the beginning to the very end. It makes complete since why they would do that too. They were talking about a death. Even if you do not agree with same sex marriage they seemed to pull you in a way that you found yourself cheering for Charlene by the end of the Documentary. In other words what they set out to do when filming this story they accomplished very well.
The claims made by the congresspeople towards the end, were able to use credibility to their statements by bringing up Charlene's story. The claims that were made were about how homosexual couples deserve equal rights in marriage just like every other American citizen. I couldn't help but think that if this tragic death hadn't happened would that bill have been passed that year. How much did her story back what so many people wanted to accomplish for so long.
