"For My Wife" response (Alex Davis)

After watching "for My Wife" anyone could agree that the claims made were strictly based upon Pathos. If you look closely you could also agree that Logos and Kairos can be included as well. The emotion that was expressed after the tragedy is mostly what the arguments are driven on. Charlene was upset over the tragedy that had recently taken place with the death of Kate, but also the aftermath. When she was rejected from both the hospital and funeral home, her emotions continued to grow. She was turned down because she was Kate's "partner" she had no rites to be involved. Logos and Kairos play into this because of the logic, timing, and context of things. The logic behind Charlene's claims is that if she is in a committed relationship to someone and loves that person she should be able to be with them in a time of need. Married couples do it why could she not be there for her loved one. The Kairos of it all is that it did not come up in her life until tragedy struck. It is sad that something this devastating had to happen before it was finally brought to light, but because of the context and timing there now is a bill passed for the case. (Alex Davis)
