When you drop off your child at a day care facility you are putting your trust in the employees to ensure the safety and well-being of your child. However, in a Brooklyn Park Day care after finding "24 violations for untrained staff and improper care" at the establishment it was decided that it must be shut down before a child was a fatal consequence of these mistakes. A claim made by the investigating officers that "the temporary immediate suspension issued in late January is the most serious licensing sanction at the state's disposal and has been exercised only three times in the past 10 years with child care centers" is able to be backed up with records of other day cares in the state making it an effective claim and placing more emphasis on the fact that this day care's problems and violations were very serious and were taken very seriously by the state.Kerber, the investigating officer, based his claim that this day care earned such a suspension due to finding "to find cribs with loose sheets and one child asleep in a "bouncy seat" with a stuffed animal against its face...and...teachers and aides without proper training, at times half the required staff-to-child ratio, delays in getting background checks on new workers and no assurance of meals or snacks for children."
Although this argument is not a likely one to be disputed because it has a pathos pull to it, dealing with children, it still needs evidence in order to back up the statements made by Kerber, which is does.
