Graffiti / Social-Design
When I hear social design I think about graffiti because it is a form of expression for many people visually. Graffiti is drawn outside so that others can see it and learn from the message that the artist wanted to be. Even though there are laws that do ban graffiti it is still art because it tells something that is personal to the person and which can be inspirational to advocate others into action. Graffiti is everywhere for a reason, so that it can reach many different people but since it is mainly in urban areas it can serve to bring to light something that many people want to ignore like death in their community, drugs that are killing young people, and many other issues that face individuals today.

Graffiti is not a bad thing because it is art just outside on a wall without permission. You can not ban someone’s form of expression because graffiti isn’t hurting anyone, it is drawing attention to issues that people tend to forget because of what graffiti used to represent, gang related activities. Socially graffiti is a movement all on its own just like theater is for actors and writers which is not considered as dangerous as any other form of expression but graffiti is considered almost propaganda like but it isn’t graffiti is expression one way or another. Graffiti is mostly used by young people to express themselves creatively by drawing something on a bigger canvas than a piece of paper. I believe if we allow graffiti to be displayed not everywhere but limit where the graffiti would be placed because of what it might stand for.
