Woman stabbed outside St. Paul library.
A verbal altercation outside a St. Paul public library ended in the stabbing of a 19-year-old woman on Wednesday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Police are still searching for three teenage suspects in the incident. The woman was stabbed in the torso several times outside he Payne-Phalen neighborhood library. Several male teenagers initially confronted the victim at the Arlington Hills Library. The teenagers followed her to the Payne-Phalen library where the altercation continued until a librarian asked them to leave.
A spokesperson for St. Paul Libraries said the girl could have spoke to a security guard at the front door and asked to be able to stay if she felt threatened. The security did go out and offer assistance once he noticed the altercation but by that time it was too late.
