We seek students that are anxious to share their leadership gifts and talents, who are looking to expand their leadership experience, and who are looking to expand and find new ways to improve their leadership development and experience on campus.

The Green Job Revolution

EcoWatch, a U of M student group, is hosting "The Green Job Revolution" on January 28, 2010 from 4:00-6:30 PM in Great Hall, Coffman Union. Hear from professionals in business and engineering who have incorporated sustainability into their careers.

A keynote speaker will disucss the future of our new economy, followed by a panel and breakout sessions led by professionals from different disciplines and industries.

Attend a Renting and Leasing Workshop

Will you be renting or leasing an apartment or home in the near future? What should you look for in a lease? What are your rights and responsibilities as a tenant?

University Student Legal Service, Housing and Residential Life, the Minnesota Student Association and Student & Community Relations will be holding workshops to inform you about how to make good decisions relative to renting. Remember, renting is a business transaction. Take a little time to attend any of the workshops listed below. It will make your experience far more enjoyable.

Volunteer for the 4th Annual U.S. Bank Skyway Open

The 4th Annual U.S. Bank Skyway Open, a project of the Downtown Network, is quickly approaching and the need for volunteers is great. The event has been expanded from two days to three, Thursday, February 25 - Saturday, February 27th, 2010. So more volunteers are needed to ensure that the event is a success! Legislators and the governor will be making vital decisions this spring about the U's bonding projects and financial future. Come to Support the U Day on February 9th at Coffman Union (with legislative visits to the capitol in St. Paul), and let state leaders know the U and its students are "always a priority."

Deadline Approaching: National Student Exchange

National Student Exchange is a network of nearly 200 U.S. and Canadian colleges and universities. Students can go on exchange for a semester or a year to schools all over the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada!

Applications to participate in NSE during the 2010/2011 school year are due before February 10th, 2010. To turn in an application, please call 612-626-2044 to set up an appointment.

Work for the 2010 Census

The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, such as mileage incurred while conducting census work. Best of all, census takers work right in their own communities.
